Avandia Injury Help
If you or someone you love has suffered heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular event as a result of taking Avandia (rosiglitazone), you may be eligible for compensation.
Avandia is a diabetes control medication made by GlaxoSmithKline. Clinical trials have linked the use of Avandia with heart attack and stroke.
“The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that it will significantly restrict the use of the diabetes drug Avandia (rosiglitazone) to patients with Type 2 diabetes who cannot control their diabetes on other medications. These new restrictions are in response to data that suggest an elevated risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke, in patients treated with Avandia”.
- FDA, September 23, 2010
In May 2007, FDA added a new warning about the risk of myocardial ischemia to the boxed warning for Avandia. In August 2007, FDA made important revisions to the full prescribing information (labeling) for Avandia, highlighting increased risks of congestive heart failure associated with the use of the drug.
If you have suffered from a cardiovascular injury while taking Avandia, you may be eligible for compensation.
